Fury by Elizabeth Miles

"It's winter break in Ascension, Maine. the snow is falling and everything looks pristine and peaceful. But not all is as it seems ..."

Emily Winters is looking forward to her holiday break from school. Her secret crush, Zach McCord, is showing signs that her feelings may be reciprocated. Unfortunately Zach’s girlfriend, Gabby Dove, is Emily’s best friend. When Gabby goes to Spain for the break, Zach’s allure is even more tempting with her friend out of the way. But once she starts something with Zach, there is no going back.

Chase Singer’s life is a careful illusion. He is the star quarterback and preppiest guy on campus but lives in a trailer park on the wrong side of town. When fellow classmate and former friend Sasha Bowlder jumps off of a bridge and ends up in a coma, guilt begins to creep in and Chase’s life begins to spiral out of control. Three beautiful and mysterious girls arrive in Ascension and one sets her sights on Chase, he falls hard and fast for Ty.

But Ty and her “cousins” Ali and Meg are actually the Furies from Greek mythology and are in Ascension to extract revenge on the wrongs Chase and Emily commit. Will Emily continue her relationship with Zach at the expense of her friendship with Gabby? What cruelties did Chase inflict on Sasha to cause her to attempt to end her own life? How far will the Furies go to teach both Chase and Emily their lessons for their choices?

The first book in a trilogy, the story continues with Eternity on 2012 followed by Envy in 2013. This book took awhile to interest me but in the end I am glad I stuck with it and cannot wait to see what else the Furies have in mind for the citizens of Ascension.

  1. I'd love for "Watched" to be on your list of TBR. Let me know if you're interested. It came out June 6th. Cindymhogan at yahoo dot com
