In a case of unrequited love, Luce keeps trying to get to know everything she can about Daniel as he continues to push her away. Fellow student Cam begins to show an interest in her and the ultimate batlle between good and evil breaks out. The question is who is Daniel Grigori, how does Luce know him, and are they star-crossed lovers?

This is the first book in a planned trilogy that mostly sets up the characters and their interconnecting relationships. Very few of both Luce's and the reader's questions are answered in the end. Book two entitled Torment will be published September 14, 2010.
