The Name Drop by Susan Lee

“When Elijah Ri arrives in New York City for an internship at his father’s massive tech company, Haneul Corporation, he expects the royal treatment that comes with being the future CEO—even if that’s the last thing he wants. But instead, he finds himself shuffled into a group of overworked, unpaid interns, all sharing a shoebox apartment for the summer.

When Jessica Lee arrives in New York City, she’s eager to make the most of her internship at Haneul Corporation, even if she’s at the bottom of the corporate ladder. But she’s shocked to be introduced as the new executive-in-training intern with a gorgeous brownstone all to herself.

It doesn’t take long for Elijah and Jessica to discover the source of the they share the same Korean name. But they decide to stay switched—so Elijah can have a relaxing summer away from his controlling dad while Jessica can make the connections she desperately needs for college recommendations.

As Elijah and Jessica work together to keep up the charade, a spark develops between them. Can they avoid discovery—and total disaster—with their feelings and futures on the line?” - taken from Goodreads.

When a case of mistaken identity turns out to be good fortune for both Jessica and Elijah, they never imagined how their summer plans would change. Elijah, son of the CEO, is excited to finally not have the pressure of his family overshadowing him as he hangs out with the other interns and is treated like a regular person. Jessica sees her opportunity to shine as she takes  Elijah’s place as the VIP executive intern to get some much needed references for college. As they work together on a final project, sparks begin to emerge but will their friendship survive when their true identities are discovered?

The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston (Once Upon a Con book 2)

SPOILER ALERT! This is a companion story that takes place one year after Geekerella. While it’s not necessary to read the previous book first, I wouldn’t want to spoil any of the details for you.

“The Prince and the Pauper gets a modern makeover in this adorable, witty, and heartwarming young adult novel set in the Geekerella universe by national bestselling author Ashley Poston.

Imogen Lovelace is an ordinary fangirl on an impossible mission: save her favorite character, Princess Amara, from being killed off from her favorite franchise, Starfield. The problem is, Jessica Stone—the actress who plays Princess Amara—wants nothing more than to leave the intense scrutiny of the fandom behind. If this year's ExcelsiCon isn't her last, she'll consider her career derailed.

When a case of mistaken identity throws look-a-likes Imogen and Jess together, they quickly become enemies. But when the script for the Starfield sequel leaks, and all signs point to Jess, she and Imogen must trade places to find the person responsible. That's easier said than done when the girls step into each other's shoes and discover new romantic possibilities, as well as the other side of intense fandom. As these "princesses" race to find the script-leaker, they must rescue themselves from their own expectations, and redefine what it means to live happily ever after.” - taken from Goodreads.com

I adored Geekerella and was excited to dive back into the series with the next book. Told a year later at ExcelsiCon, one month has passed since the premiere of the Starfield movie. This book’s story features Darien Freedman’s costar, Jessica Stone, aka Princess Amara. A spin on the Mark Twain story, The Prince and the Pauper, Jess switches places with her newfound doppelganger, Imogen Lovelace, during the Con. The hilarity that ensues is really about Jess and Mo discovering who they really are and being okay with it.

The third book in the series is expected in 2020, focusing on a new character set in a Beauty and the Beast retelling.
